No Brangelina sighting yet

My friends and I spent the weekend completely obsessed with the thought of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie a mere 10 km away from us. I was in Walvis Bay with my supervisor and her family, while my friends Shannon and Anna spent Sat. night in Long Beach....halfway between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, the place where Brad and Angelina have rented out beach front apartments. I was able to drive by the Burning Shore, where Brangelina are supposed to be staying, but there was no sight of them. We think they aren't actually there, because Shannon and Anna were parked on the beach almost all weekend...and there was nothing! Geez people.

I just got a message that they were in the DRC, the (former) township where my roommate teaches. Appearantly all her grade 7's met both Brad and Angelina! How is it we keep missing them??? Can't somebody send us a text!!??

Ah, the Namibian gossip wheel keeps turning!

I'm off to reconnect here in a couple of days, then to Victoria Falls in Zambia!

Angelina and Brad slip into Namibia

* STAFF REPORTER
MEGA stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt arrived in Namibia at the crack of dawn yesterday. As far as The Namibian was able to establish last night, the couple have reportedly brought their two children - Maddox and Zahara - with them.
It is unclear how long they will stay in Namibia, or what the family's plans are while they are here.
At the weekend, wire reports emanating from overseas speculated that Jolie, who is pregnant with Pitt's child, was coming to have her baby in Namibia.
Alternative reports have suggested that the family is just on a visit.
Both stars value their privacy and are very protective of their children.
The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation radio news yesterday quoted immigration officials confirming that the Jolie-Pitt family had arrived at Walvis Bay at around 06h30. (*this is just 30km from my house!)

Daylight Savings

Namibia has just 'fallen back' in daylight savings. It's a strange feeling now that it gets dark so much earlier. I think it will take a little getting used to, because in my mind, summer should be on the way!

Things are going pretty well here in Swakopmund. My music class with MYO is rocking out, and I'm getting to know the learners more and more each week. It's been hard to remember names and faces, simply because I only see them once a week and there are *70* of them!! whew! We are about to embark on a musical journey, as we seek out ways to build and make our own instruments. I am really excited about this project and am eager to find out what we will come up with!!

Term 1 of the year is winding down, and it is certainly quiet at the TRC. School is over as of next Thursday, and with any school in the world, the learners and teachers are going a little stir crazy! We are all ready for our break, which will be almost a month long!

My plans so far are to go visit my host family and friends in Omaruru before I head to Windhoek for Peace Corps training (called re-connect). I am also planning a little travel after the 2 weeks with PC. Check back in and find out where I'll be heading :)

*********CONGRATULATIONS TO MY MOM, WHO WAS VOTED TEACHER OF THE YEAR AT HER SCHOOL!!!**
Yay mommy!!!! you ROCK!
